what is the difference between the Brisbane and Windsor cores? Is there really any difference between L2 cache of 512KB and 1MB?

More cache is ALWAYS better.

but how much better... ? :P

The Athlon 64 3700+ Clawhammer with a cache of 1024, has a core speed of 2400. The Athlon 64 3700+ Newcastle with a cache of 512, has a core speed of 2600. Looks like the the extra cache has an advantage of 200 on the core speed.
