Anyone know about .php, mysql?
Looks like our current host is now our past host. But, if not for them, we may have been toast 2-3 years ago. So they saved us. Thank you again Nash (MoFo) :) I own the vb forum software forever for the pcabusers.com and .net domains. And trollhunters. I am looking around for a new host but I believe it needs to have mysql and .php. And that is where i b clueless. I tried installing our forum once before. Remember that time all the lights went out in georgia? I fubared bigtime. It's something with mysql, whatever that is. And a table needs adjusting along with .php ready. http://www.vbulletin.com/download.php Saw an ad on this hosting company in the la-*test*-('") MaxPC, www.1and1.com Prices aren't too bad at all. Unless I'm missing something. That wouldn't be the first time. I last backed up the forum the 18th of last month. I am *trying to at least get all of our last info when our host tried moving us to another server. Perhaps uploading that to a new server will work, with those adjustments. I and I know you all hate to lose all the info. Any thoughts, ideas or suggestions please post here. And if anyone knows about mysql and .php. Otherwise, we may end up staying here.

That's a shame. Be a pity to lose the old posts, but I guess we'd survive. I know enough about PHP programming and MySQL only realize that it's a bitch moving it to a different server. Last time I had to move some client's website from one host to another it was a major pain fixing the PHP scripts so they'd work on the new server. I could probably help with the PHP stuff (I at least know what usually needs to be fixed on a server move) but I'm clueless on MySQL.

Blade, Let me know if you would like assistance in a host. I can pull some strings and get us a host on the web as mentioned in my past PMs. I dont know anything about mysql and .php but I do know the host I have connections with has those features (whatever they are).

I can help out with the .php and mysql if you need me. Also, does anyone know what kind of numbers the site had? I maybe able to help out with hosting. Really depends on your traffic numbers. EDIT: I should make it clear that I can't get free hosting, but I can get a discount on a few packages. Here are a few numbers: Storage Space-300 GB Transfer / Bandwidth-3000 GB Domains Allowed-25 POP3 E-mail Accounts: Supports Outlook, etc.-2,500 MySQL Database-25 Ect. Should be able to do free domain transfer and setup. It is like 65.00 a year. Let me know and I will give somemore details.

Nash, you cool bro. ;) It'd be great if he can give me a link so I can download it all. If possible. We need something stable and that we all can depend on. I certainly appreciate what all you and the other 2 have done. At this point we need to be on another server. From your talk with him, it still isn't clear. When will he be home from NY? Must not have remote access. Please, get the info if and as soon as you can. Going over 3 possible hosts now, and ford, thank you. What you posted sounds great. It is above what we do and have. Still waiting to hear back from 2 other possibilities. Then we'll decide from the 3. Not yet sure when either can be up, but it looks like the earliest might be monday. I'd pass on 1and1 imho, go with moreweb. They host anandtech and my website and there is rarely any downtime ever. If you need any more info just ask. I know enough about php to be dangerous (or destructive), I haven't figured out which yet. My site runs on php and I use phpBB since i'm cheap.

gillbot, is that all correct. 6.95 monthly for 2years and all that? I know a lot will charge much more if you go even slightly over. At our peak we used around 35gb a month. With spambots more now, I'd still think we are under 30gb. Space wise we total much under 1gb. Everything else at moreweb sounds too good to be true. Thank you for the info on them very much. :) So far we have what ford and gillbot mentioned, and 2 sites from where members here work at. Which would be free I think. As always, thoughts and ideas about everything so far is welcome.

35Gb? Holy crap! That's a lot of bandwidth. I was trying to figure out if I could give you some space on my web account (which supports PHP & MySQL) but I'm capped at 40Gb a month and I have a couple of clients on there.

If you can go with one of the free ones, I would do that. As long as it is what you need that is. If you need me for anything, just Xfire me. fords8 is my Xfire name.
