DC power suplies for PC? I need one. Looks like at least one system here needs a new power supply. What I want is a DC power supply to run directly off batteries, then I can use the PC mobile and not need an inverter or UPS for it.
Any ideas where to get them, preferably good ones and not too expensive.
I have a Large rack mount UPS I was going to run on 24V deep cycle battery bank, that wastes allot of battery power though. The UPS eats allot of power just running itself even when no load is on it.

From talking with a carpc guru friend of mine, the opus power supplies are a great power supply. Rock solid and a whole bunch of features. Some I can think of right now are: when the 12v remote (kinda of like the wire that turns an amp on/off) power is lost it sends a signal to the computer to go into hibernate/sleep so it can pickup where it left off. Once that power feed comes back on it can quickly restart.
