I'm Back
I'm back from our short vacation to Las Vegas that started Sunday morning driving from Hemet to Las Vegas (~4 hour drive). My wife and I are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary with my older daughter's 21st birthday. We stayed at the TI (Treasure Island) hotel and casino. Saw 2 shows on Monday and Tuesday. The Monday show was Steve Wyrick reel magic show. Small theater what was great. Some of his illusions were damn good, including at the end where a real jet is displayed almost instantly. We saw him at Planet Hollywood casino. http://www.planethollywood.com/ http://www.stevewyrick.com/ On Tuesday, we saw Bite at the Stratosphere casino. This was a topless show with some nice babes with excellent hard rock music. http://www.stratospherehotel.com/bite.html I was lucky during our waiting at Planet Hollywood while I was playing a electronic game of Keno. I was picking 6 numbers to bet with a cost of 25 cents. I put $20 into the machine. About half way through when my money was down to $10, I hit 6 out of 6 for 1700 quarters ($425). I quickly quit the game and cashed out my winnings. My wife and I used that through the reaming days to gamble with. I still had $120 left when we checked out this morning and left for home. Before leaving Las Vegas, I stopped at the local Fry's store. Note that my wife and I have been going to Vegas usually every Thanks giving day, and I have never spend more that $20; however, today I spend $1000 on my new pc that I plan to build. For the motherboard, I bought an Asus P5K-E /WiFi-AP. It supports DDR2 1066 memory. I also bought a 2.4GHz quad core intel cpu, one Western Digital Raptor 75 gig hard drive, and one 500 gig Seagate hard drive, a 750 watt Thermaltake power supply, and finally a Antec P180 black mid tower case. I wanted to get the eVGA 8800GT video card, but they were out of stock and also out of stock on DDR2 1066 memory. I just ordered the memory from Corsair (2 gig kit) and it should arrive sometime next week. I have an email notification with NewEgg for the video card. After Fry's, we stopped at the Outlet Store and I bought some Levis and the wife bought some clothes. We got back around 9:30pm as we ran into some traffic in the Redlands area. As for Las Vegas, I must say that it's changing again. I saw less parents with kids, as the casino owners seem to want gamblers and not families which is fine with me. The south end of Vegas is still ok with kids, especially the Excalibur casino where they have a huge arcade and the King's Arthur's show.
