WTB/WTTF: Gameboy Advance
Looking to get one for my son. He loves this old gameboy color he got from his cousin but as you know the screen sucks!! Looking for a regular GBA or GBA SP. It must be dirt cheap or willing to take a trade of some sort (lord only knows what I have). Thanks Greg

I would suggest getting a Pearl Blue or Graphite color version of the GBA SP. The Graphite is pretty hard to get now, but you should still be able to find a Pearl Blue. The reason being is unlike the original Gameboy Advance, it has a backlit LCD screen, makes it easier to use at night and overall. It also has a rechargeable battery so you don't eat those up. The two colors I mentioned have brighter screens than the original GBA SPs. If he just wants to play GBA games, you can look at a Nintendo DS, unfortunately Nintendo DSs do not support Gameboy Color and previous games. If you haven't already, you can try a local Gamestop if you have one, you might find something for you there. Even though I am not sure of what your definition of dirt cheap is :)

Well I found one last night on anandtech. Its the retro look GBA SP. Does that have the better screen?? Greg

If you are talking about the ones that looks like a NES controller, I do not think that has the brighter backlit screen. To my knowledge, that only came in three colors, Graphite, Pearl Pink, and Pearl Blue.
